Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Our Spring Concert will be Monday, June 5th at 6:30

Tuesday Sally’s class were excited about their time at Meadows Bee Farm. Since vacation time, additional lambs, calves and baby chicks have arrived. The baby animals bring out the soft side of everyone when they see those newborns.

For ART on Monday, the students worked on editing and formatting their Windham history book.

As soon as our Windham History book comes back from being printed, we will be having a potluck,  a chance for the children to share the book, and an old time square dance.

SBAC testing was done two mornings this week.   This can be a pretty worrisome time for some of the students. Over the years we have learned some kids test better standing, sitting on their knees, having paper and pencil to work out problems, they all have their way of handling it.  First they came to the all-purpose room and had a small breakfast before testing. English muffins, eggs, banana bread, strawberries, watermelon, yogurt, juice. They picked out their food and sat and relaxed and chatted.

We did our Walk for Lunch on Thursday after lunch.

Check it out.   The Beasties art the kids created a month ago are on display on the walls at the Townshend Country Store. Check it out. There is a monthly “Art Salon” at the store which is a chance for artists, and appreciators of art to gather and discuss art. This month’s topic is kid’s art. It is at 6:30 on Tuesday, May 2nd. All are welcome.

From Gail: When I went to pick up the pizza for the kids on Friday, I checked out the “Beastie art” pictures on the wall. They are beautifully set up. Very nicely done.

This Saturday night at Townshend Town Hall is their monthly free dinner at six.  Leland and Gray Junior Iron Chef team is cooking up a healthy meal. The Barnstormers will be upstairs playing from seven to nine. See you there.

We have included a signature form for Walking and Running Club. We welcome any parents who would like to go each Tuesday after school. Please return forms by next Tuesday when we have our first session.

We also sent home a brochure and informational card about ticks. Tick season is here again.  Please check your child every evening before bed and teach them to check themselves.
