“Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to learn”

Wow, what a huge success last night at the pasta dinner/Art Gala. The parents group did it again. The pasta was delicious and plentiful, salads were great and of course, per usual, we had some yummy desserts. It was pleasant to see parents and towns people checking out the crafts and art the kids had made, and nice to see kids pulling their family and friends to check out what they had made. Younger kids were just beaming about people buying what they had made. This was the first time for some of the older kids to wait on tables.  They were thrilled and did a great job.  Many parents worked to make this happen and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of the school.

Windham School Concert, Monday, December 16th at 6:30. See you all here. Children should  be here at 6:15.

Our annual School Craft Fair will be next Thursday, December 19 in the afternoon. There will be six craft stations. We appreciate parents helping us out with this, especially after all your work for the Gala.  Please let us know if you can help and what you will be doing.

Skating at Vermont Academy will be in the morning on Friday, December 20. Students will leave by bus  around ten o'clock and be back by noon time. Now is the time to check out their skates, whether they still fit,  or if they need to borrow some. We have sent a sheet home, so we will know who needs skates and get them fitted to them before the skating day.  We had just the right amount of spaghetti sauce left over from the pasta dinner, so that we will be having a lunch for them after skating.  The afternoon will be spent cleaning desks and possibly watching a movie.

Lunches: Sometimes the kids, especially the older ones have eaten most of their food by lunch time.  If anyone  wants to send in extra cans of soup, fruit or snacks we will  write their names on them and when they are extra hungry it will be here for them.

Sally has a request: There will be pizza and a Christmas open mic/ sing along at the West Townshend Store on Friday, December 20. Pizza starts at 5 pm and music at 7pm. They are encouraging people to perform or lead their favorite Christmas/holiday song. Sally is trying to get some of our wonderful Windham singers to come and sing. We will have a short practice after school on Wednesday, December 18, from three to four pm for any kids who can participate. We will sing mostly familiar songs. She would also like to teach them a Christmas carol, The Friendly Beasts, to accompany some puppets made by Cate Kelley (who helped us with the play, The Special Place). Please let me know if your child would like to join us and can come on Wednesday.
