Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to learn”

Windham School Concert, Monday, December 16th at 6:30. See you all here. Children should be here at 6:15

School pictures: Everyone who bought school pictures was supposed to receive a complimentary class picture. If there are parents that did not receive one, call800-948-1120 number and dial 0.  They will take care of them immediately.

Parents Group Pasta/Art Event on Thursday, December 12. Looking at what has already been made for the art event, it is sure to be a big hit.

We want to take a poll on how parents feel about the gift exchange. We have been doing this for years and are wondering if we should continue the tradition. We know it is one more thing parents need to take care of and sometimes the children are not very happy with their gifts. What do you think? If parents would like to do the exchange it will be on Friday, the 20thafter lunch. Most parents have email and can just email a yes or no, or send a note in to your child's teacher.

Our annual School Craft Fair will be Thursday, December 19 in the afternoon. There will be six craft stations. We would appreciate parents letting us know how they will be helping or what craft they have planned bynext Friday, the 13th. We are leaning towards doing Christmas crafts that do not involve candy or food.

Skating at Vermont Academy will be in the morning on Friday, December 20. Students will go by bus and be back by noon time. The afternoon will be spent cleaning desks and possibly watching a movie

Zentangles has been a huge hit with both adults and students. It is an art where you can turn out something unique and beautiful without being an art major. It is enlightening to see how everyone can take a 4 by 4 inch piece of paper and turn out something completely different from everyone else in the room. Thank you Antje.

Milk-until now we have been giving the students 2 percent white and 2 percent chocolate milk. The State of Vermont dictates we serve 1% milk. So, after this week, that is what we will be doing. If it turns out that kids that regularly drink milk do not like the one percent and will not drink it, we will drop you a note. If it is important to you that your child drink milk at school, we will see what we can work out.

MANCHESTER, VT –Riley Rink Dollar Skate Day will be held at Riley Rink on Sunday, Dec. 8, between 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. Discounted prices are $1 for students and children and $3 for adults. All proceeds go to benefit the Manchester Parks and Recreation Program Fund, so we can provide fun, quality programming for the community. Skate rentals are $6.00 per pair. This would be a good afternoon to practice skating before we go to Vermont Academy for our Christmas Skating. I checked and you do not have to be from Manchester.
