Windham Elementary School Newsletter January 16, 2015 “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”
Parents: don’t forget: No school on Monday and Tuesday. No school Monday for Martin Luther King Day. No school Tuesday the 20th. Teachers have an in-service day to work on their new Report Cards.
Hurray, the new heater is in Mr. PJ’s room. While the rest of us were chilly most days, some of the girls were in tank tops. Young blood, much warmer than ours.
Our young poets in Sally’s class are spending time typing their hand written poems on the computers. Is this a waste of their time?? No. Federal and State testing has to be done on the computer. They will be required to know how to turn on the computer, open a new file, move around within that file without any help, how to save a file etc.
Windham Elementary School now has a Facebook page. Check it out and check off whether you like or do not like it. We want to know if any parents do not want their children on our Facebook page. The FERPA paper you signed at the beginning of the year gave permission for this. Mr. PJ already has taken pictures to be put onto the page of the special math project they are doing. This will also be a place you can read about upcoming events, happenings, newsletter etc. One of the first things we can do with the Facebook is put some of the great poems Sally’s class has done. Out of the mouths of babes come some phenomenal phrases.
We were asked to let families know about this: The Townshend Community Presents The Last Saturday Concert Series Free Monthly Performances & Supper for All Ages at the Townshend Town Hall 6:00-9:00 PM
