Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Your child is bringing home their report card today. Remind them to get it out of their back pack.

Important: Due to some parent concerns, the Windham Elementary School Board asks that parents kindly refrain from parking or driving in front of the school. Please use the parking spaces provided to keep the children and staff safe from exhaust fumes and potential accident hazards while children enter and exit the building. This includes pick-ups for JISP.  Staff will be helping to enforce this and we will be asking people to move their cars if they pull up in front of the school. Thank you for your understanding.

Ski and the JISP program are still going just fine. Cross country skiers stayed this Wednesday and made pretzel dough, had their lunch and then walked to Burbee Pond.  When they came back the pretzels were prepared, cooked and devoured.   Kids that went to the mountain proclaimed it a good day, even though it was icy in spots.

We just received this: It's pretty cold out there but let's think summer!  The Explorers Camp will run at NewBrook Elementary beginning July 9 and ending August 3. Brochures will go out in March.  If any of you are working with families to plan support systems for the summer, please let families know they can apply for the state childcare subsidy to cover some or all of the camp fee ($125 per week).  The Winston Prouty Center has resource staff to assist with this process.

Thank you everyone for being so understanding and everyone pitching in with transportation during the time Kord took to visit his sick father.
