Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Fridays to the Kehoe’s pond was delightful. They hiked/walked up, and as soon as they arrived their Friday pizza was there. After pizza, milk and one cookie each they set out to catch polliwogs. Due to all this rain the edge of the pond was quite wet. One big plus to hunting critters with nets is the kids had to stay calm, walking and stalking with nets and had quite a bit of success. Sally and Mrs. Kehoe set up big containers for them to collect in. There was a limited amount of nets, and everyone was good about sharing.

We hope you all enjoyed the concert. The kids work really hard. Sometimes they get so intent when they are singing or playing the ukuleles they forget to smile. Three years from when Sally started with the ukulele classes they are doing great.

Wednesday, the 7th our fourth graders went on a field trip to the Bennington fish hatchery. Not the best time of year, because most of the fish have been stocked in rivers and lakes.  They were given a short online preview of what they would be seeing when they toured it (minus big fish). The people there said there were not many fish, but Jake said there were 40,000 in the first building they went into.

Well, our sixth graders got a hint of what next year will be like when they had to be ready for the bus at seven on Wednesday.  Step-Up Day gives them a small clue of what school with the big kids will be like. Of course, right away some of the third graders wanted to know when they were going to get a day in Mr. PJ’s class.

Wednesday, June 14th. Sally’s class will be going to Billings Farm.   If they are not back in time for the bus, we will deliver your child home.

Field Day, Thursday, June 15thThere will be water games so the kids need a change of clothes, or a bathing suit.

Graduation is Thursday, June 15th at 6:00 PM.

Friday, June 16th is singing at Valley Cares.

Last day of school is Monday, June 19.  Picnic at Hapgood Pond. This is always a half day. Unless it is really cold, it will be rain or shine.
