Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Thursday, March 23 is a half day for Parent conferences in the afternoon. That morning we will be taking the bus to the Latchis Theater for a special performance by the Windham Orchestra.

We are planning a half day visit for next year’s kindergartners on May 18th 8:30-12:00.  They can stay for lunch and recess if they want to...please pass this on to anyone you might know with a potential kindergartner.....we will have more information as the time draws closer.

Next Wednesday March 15 is Community Soup Night at West Townshend Country Store. Time is 5:00 to 6:30. See you there and per usual the weather is predicting snow. If I remember right there has not been a calm clear evening yet.

Ms. West reminds us: Jump Rope for Heart forms are due back next Thursday March 16.

We have several students practicing for next Saturdays Talent Show on March 18that Townshend Town Hall. They are very diligent in practicing each day during free time at school. They performed this morning at our Friday All School Meeting.  They have quite a following of students that want to go that night and watch their performance. There is a free dinner at 6:00 and the show starts at 7:00. If your children are participating they should be there by 6:30PM.

We just found out yesterday that there is also a talent show this Saturday in Wardsboro, starting at 7PM. Sally has another commitment so cannot be there but anyone who wants to can participate.

Looking ahead Mr. PJ wants to let parents know: Just an FYI----If the forecast holds true, we will go back to Stratton next Wednesday....presuming we have school.

Cross country kids helped with sugaring at Meadows Bee Farm on Wednesday.  We have several kids here who help with sugaring at home and for them it is fun to share what they know.  Also each sugaring operation operate in a different form. There are some sugar houses with the old fashioned firewood system, some more modern and mechanical, but one thing they all have in common is good old fashioned pouring and hauling of sap. Physical labor hauling through the snow, mud or ice.

Why is the longest human nose on record only eleven inches long?
Because if it was twelve inches it would be a foot.
