“Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Our Spring concert is May 18th.  Some of you parents have requested we let you know as soon as possible so you can plan your work schedules. More on the time etc. later.

For parents that would like to let their kids on the computer but want something suitable for them to do check  Check whether you want short, medium or long stories, then onto reading level, after that go to author and there are many stories that will be read to your kids by the computer. The kids recognize the books when they see them online, because so many of them are in our library and in the class rooms. Many, many of the books have been read to them already. Students are constantly deciding on favorite books and want them reread to them. This is a place where it can happen. Exposing children to a variety of great books can instill in them a desire to be able to read on their own, and help them understand the structure of a story, which is a prerequisite for becoming a good reader.

Very noisy in here at 2:30 some afternoons. The kids in Sally’s room are involved in wood working again. First rule is to wear goggles. Then they get the wood out and start to pound the nails. For a while it is very noisy, then quiet usually descends when they discover the nail is in crooked, so there is a little quiet while they pull the nail out. They have made some very recognizable boats, stop signs and other imaginative items. We are looking for wood scraps (pine or spruce is best) for our woodworking projects.

Next Thursday morning, the kindergartners will be going to the Grafton Nature Museum for a morning of “Discovering Dinosaurs”.

We are still enjoying the Friday lunches.  It is a wonderful way to end to a busy week.
