Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Don’t forget.   Windham School kids can tube free at Magic Mountain this Saturday from noon to four. Just go into the main lodge and have them check your name off.

Our skiing program is over for this year. It was a good one.  One kindergartner cross country skied for the first time. Jake went to the Mountain after years of cross country and took right to downhill. Little ones like James and Ivy had already been snowboarding. The end of the season means Sally will probably get all of them out back here skiing behind the school. Buying the skis, poles and boots from LL Bean years ago turned out to be a long term good deal.

Thank you, thank you everyone who helped make our pasta dinner a huge success. From the moms who contributed supplies and food, baked desserts, lugged in extra tables, helped with set up and clean up, to others who brought a friend or friends to the dinner we thank all of you.  You are all essential to the success of our events. Pat yourself on the shoulder.

The Beshay children, Alex, Lillie, and Gracie, are in Oklahoma City, where all three will  participate in national Honor Choirs sponsored by the Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE).  OAKE is an international music educators' association founded in honor of Zoltan Kodaly, a brilliant composer, educator, philosopher and musicologist.  Students at Windham Elementary study their music based on his methodology. The Beshay’s all had to prepare a rigorous audition and all three were accepted!  They have been learning their music over the past several months, and will rehearse more this week with their conductors, all internationally renowned.  The culmination of the music conference is the concert on Saturday evening, where they will perform for an audience of thousands at the Civic Center Music Hall of Oklahoma City.  Congratulations to the Beshay’s for their wonderful accomplishments!
