Open House will be Thursday, November 17thfrom 6:30 to 7:30.

Monday’s trip to Brattleboro Museum was a wonderful experience. After lunch outside in the sun, we went in for an introduction to the museum. Then we split into two groups.  The theme in that gallery part of the museum is Luscious. One group went to the left, the other to the right.  Before each picture they were asked “How do you interpret this, how does this make you feel?” How does this picture fit into the theme “Luscious”? There were a variety of different answers. Then we switched sides. One interesting area very worthwhile to hang out and browse in is the old train ticket booth which has been turned into a display of student made art with either poems, deep thoughts or short one liners. That needed much more time to browse.

You know what was good about this trip? The children all followed directions, did not get too close to the art work, and were respectful.  They all were asked to participate and they did. After three quarters of an hour browsing different arts, they were ready for their assignment.

Splitting into three groups at tables set up with colored pencils, scissors, glue and boxes of a variety of accessories to build on their table’s theme they went to work. Each group had to come up with a theme and then create art work that fit into the theme.  The art they did will be here on display on Open House night.  Also on display that night will be their pumpkin pottery. One thought to keep in mind is you will see how they all design their own creations.

Lunch this week was another great feed. Chicken Parmesan with pasta and sauce. Roasted carrots, beets and potatoes from our garden, apple crisp and ice cream for lunch. The apple crisp is a great bribery tool to get kids to experiment new foods, and that they do!!!

We still are trying for more soccer equipment. Only $127 to go. Mr. PJ has another request in todonorschoose.org.  If you or someone you know would like to make a contribution it would be much appreciated. Just go to the website.

Winter concert on Monday December 12 at 6:30.

Don’t forget the Harvest Dinner and square dance at the  Meeting House  this Saturday, starting at 5 PM. The Windham Ukulele players will be performing.

It is still tick season. Those nasty little things are looking for warm bodies as the weather gets cold. We found one in the school on Wednesday. So please check your kids every night if they have been outside playing at all.

Antje Ruppert and some friends will be playing Celtic music this Friday at the Pizza night in West Townshend. Pizza making starts at 5, music around 6PM.

                                    Have a wonderful weekend.
