Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to learn”

Upcoming: Open House on Wednesday, November 5, at 6:30. This is the evening when your children come with you and show you what they are doing in their classroom.

We will be having a nurse here on Monday (Nov.3) at nine talking about nursing as a career.

Monday, November 10 is Early Release for parent teacher conferences. Your child’s teacher will contact you.

Tuesday, the 11th is Veterans Day. There is no school for students. Teachers have an in-service day.

Friday afternoon The Weston Opera House was here for a preview of the upcoming “The Secret Garden” which we will watch at the Playhouse in January. After a short talk and a DVD, the school went outside and planted garlic and flower bulbs. Sally and the students had prepared the garden earlier in the week.

The tepee is up in the back field, right outside Sally’s classroom window. Check it out when you are here for Open House. Walking inside and looking up, it is hard to imagine how Alan Partridge gets that all up so perfectly. Fine job he does.

Reminder to parents: So far we only have one soccer shirt back. Thank you.

Cub Scouts started at Flood Brook this Wednesday at 5:30. There is a poster with all the information on our bulletin board.

On November 12, we will have a visit from Charlie Paquin. He has an extensive knowledge of geology and archaeology he will be teaching us how the early inhabitants of this area made tools from rocks and trees.
