Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Scheduled meetings for teachers for September:

Monday, Sept 18: Mr. PJ, all day GLAM (Grade Level Assessment Meetings)

Thursday, Sept 21: Sally, all day GLAM (Grade Level Assessment Meetings)

Friday, Sept. 22, Mr. PJ, ½ day CPI training (Restraint Training)

One change with the farm on Tuesday’s. Since Mr.PJ’s class only stays until 8:30, Kord will go back to the farm at eight thirty and bring them back to school. This way their backpacks etc can be left on the bus, and they will not have to transition to cars. We had two good sessions at the farm this week getting acquainted or reacquainted with the farm animals and farm rules. Safety, Respect, Responsibility and being Ready to Learn are important on the farm too

School pictures will be taken by Geskus Studio this fall.  Friday, October 13th is the date. They usually come here after they have finished at another school.   We will keep you posted.

Student’s eyes will be tested here on Wednesday, September 20.  If you have not sent your signed approval sheet back please do so.

To any community member interested: The Windham Fire Department if having a CPR class at the school on Wednesday, November 1st at 6:00.  This is free.  Call Mike McLaine if you are interested. 875-1550.

We are going apple picking this year at Green Mountain Orchards. It will be after Columbus Day. This is another event we will let you know more about.

Thanks to any parents who took time from their busy lives to attend our parent information night. And thanks to Cindy Kehoe for watching the kids so parents and teachers had time to meet without distraction. If you were not able to attend and have questions about your child’s program at school please contact his/her teacher. Other opportunities to find out more about what your child is doing in school will be at Open House on Wednesday, October 18 and Parent Conferences on Thursday, October 19.
