Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Something new this year. We will give you a schedule of the days that Sally or Mr. PJ will be out of the building for required administrators meetings and/or classes.

Wednesday, Sept. 13: Mr. PJ, all day LTM meeting. (Principal’s Leadership Team Meeting)

Friday, Sept 15: Sally, CPI training all day (Restraint Training)

Monday, Sept 18: Mr. PJ, all day GLAM (Grade Level Assessment Meetings)

Thursday, Sept 21: Sally, all day GLAM (Grade Level Assessment Meetings)

Friday, Sept. 22, Mr. PJ, ½ day CPI training (Restraint Training)

Mark your calendar: We will be having a Parent Information Night on Monday, September 11 at 6:30.   Babysitting available here at the school for those of you who need to bring your children. This evening is a chance for teachers to share their educational programs with parents.

Hot lunch was good this week. Chicken tacos with homemade salsa, with enough left over for any kids who wanted to have it again the next day. Pizza, carrot sticks, cucumber slices and watermelon for lunch today.

Sally’s kindergarten class went to the Grafton Nature Museum today for the fairy house building program. Beforehand Sally read them a story about fairies that live in flowers, we printed out some colored pictures of what they might gather when they are in the woods to make their fairy home and talked about what kind of woods leavings to gather. The Nature Museum always has a short program leading up to the days event.

Mr. PJ’s class will go to the farm on Tuesday and Sally’s class on Thursday. Make sure they are dressed appropriately with warm clothes and boots. If you are dropping your child off please try to have him/her there by 8:00 AM. Thank you.

Sally would like to begin ukulele classes up soon. One for beginners and one for intermediate level students. Please let her know if your child wants to participate.

School pictures will be taken by Geskus Studio this fall.  We will get back to you when we have a firm date.

The grass is very wet in the morning, so it is a good idea for children to have a pair of inside shoes to put on when they come in from recess. Also remember to have them bring sneakers for PE Wednesday and Thursday.
