Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Vacation next week.   See everyone again on the 26th.

As parents know, your pass at Stratton Mountain is good for all season long. So have a blast at the mountain during vacation.

The bus is still dealing with the frost heaves.   Hang in there with the delays.  Spring is coming.

So far not much illness here at Windham Elementary.   Let’s hope it stays that way.

If you need a packet to apply for summer camp at Newbrook School let us know.   It runs from July 9th through August 3rd from 8:30 to 3:00.

Students have been working on a science unit about recycling with Sally, about the importance of recycling and reusing materials as often as possible in daily life. They have all been working to find viable alternatives to plastics, and what other materials might be used instead. This study is going on in conjunction with an art unit about making reusable bags.  These bags can be used at the grocery store, or any other store, instead of using the plastic bags offered by many stores which end up in the oceans or blowing around the planet as pollution. The connection between these two classes will make the students' apply what they learned to real life.  Sally, Mrs. Kehoe, Beth McDonald, Antje, Toni from Meadows Bee, Hope Richardson our coordinator worked hard for three Monday’s to get this project done.
