Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Sneakers for Ukraine

Jocelyn’s Girl Scout troop is collecting sneakers for Ukraine. Please send in with your students any old sneakers you would like to help with their collection. The box will be picked up THIS Thursday, May 5th. Thank you!

Tools & Maintenance Badge

Your students earned another amazing badge from Meadows Bee Farm this week! They have learned how to identify, use and how to take care of certain tools that can help run a farm smoothly. Their culminating project was their boot jacks that they brought home this week! We are looking forward to seeing what the last six weeks at MBF has in store for all of us.

Hero Project

Theresa Kloos, an artist in residence from Weston Playhouse will be coming to WES for a school residency for 5 weeks of Friday’s in May and June. Students will invent and embody their favorite hero/heroine by portraying them in songs, scenes and/or dances. A safe and joyful environment will be provided for all students for them to develop their singing, dancing and acting skills while promoting listening, collaboration, communication and a great sense of fun. The focus will be on exploring the creative process rather than focusing on a finished product. There will be a playdate at the playhouse on Saturday, June 4th on the Weston Village Green, rain or shine, from 12-3 PM.

  • Voluntary participation for all students and families and teachers.

  • There will be a superhero fashion show, pep rally and parade during the event, plus games, activities, crafts and more.

  • RAIN DATE: We will postpone if absolutely necessary, to a date TBD.

  • Costume for the day: same color t-shirts of choice (to help your school stand apart from others), power packs, flashlights and cardboard gadgets TBD

Thanks to generous family donors at Weston Playhouse this program is offered free of charge to our school. A photo release form is going home to sign and return before May 6th.

Spring Concert June 2nd

Please mark your calendars for June 2nd at 6:00 PM for a Spring Concert! The WES students have been working hard all year with Ms. Sally and Ms. Ullman in their weekly music classes. Everyone is excited to share their musical talents with family.

Last Student Day - June 16th

Our last student day will be Thursday, June 16th and a half day. Weather depending, and finding a lifeguard we would like to  spend it at Hapgood Pond. We would plan on leaving the school at 9 AM and be at Hapgood Pond until 12:00 PM. We are hoping that all families can attend this end of year celebration. We would like to provide a potluck lunch for everyone attending.

Food and Beverage Item suggestions include:
