Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Meadows Bee Farm
It was so great to return to the farm after taking a brief break to make sure everyone was healthy after last week. The students were able to assist and watch as the sheep received a “manicure” and a treat to make their gut healthy! We also learned that the sheep can relax in this position as they receive their manicures by just the turn of their head!

Winter Weather
Thanks to Ms. Sally, Ms. Ullman and Ms. Carla for taking the students out for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing these past two weeks. All the students had a chance to pack down the cross-country ski trail with a snowshoe hike on a beautiful bluebird sky day. The students have been able to enjoy skiing the trails twice since making the trail! Signs of active winter animals could be found as we ventured around the trails behind the school. Mice, deer, fox, squirrels, rabbits and birds!

Valentine’s Day Treats
Unfortunately since the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is still very prevalent, we will have to ask that students NOT bring Valentine cards or candy to give to other students from home. We will still participate in our appreciation week. During the week of Valentine’s Day, the students pick a name of another student each morning and by the end of the day an appreciation card is constructed to be given to the student they chose. The appreciation cards are a way to show thanks and appreciation for a kind gesture, words or friendship that they have shared with one another during the school year so far.
