Meadows Bee Farm & Ukulele
Farm and Ukulele lessons will resume normal schedule next week.
JISP Reminders
Starting this Wednesday, January 8th, please send your student with a lunch that does NOT have to be heated on JISP day’s.
Stratton skiers/chaperones: Drivers should be at Windham Elementary at 11:30 AM to help transport to the mountain. Wear plenty of layers to stay warm and bring your equipment with you.
No JISP on February 5th, 19th and March 4th through the school. Parents, you can still take your kids to the mountain yourselves on these days, we as a school though will not be going because of Stratton Mountain Demo Days and Feb vacation.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Performance Opportunity
On Monday, January 20, the West River Community Project, in conjunction with the Jamaica Community Arts Organization, will be holding a celebration of the life and ideas of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it will be held at the Jamaica Town hall, beginning at 4 pm and be followed by a potluck supper. Windham students have done a wonderful job participating in this event since we started holding it about 4 years ago, singing, playing ukes and reading poems. Sally would like to have our students participate again this year. We will be working on songs, and may have time to write some poems, at school. Please let Sally know if your child wants to be part of this event.
Harlem Rockets
On Saturday, February 29th at 6 PM the Harlem Rockets will be performing at the Leland & Gray main gym. The Harlem Rockets are a comedy basketball show geared to all ages. Adults: $15 Students/Children: $10

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont Snow Days
These free events give Vermonters the opportunity to try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, in an effort to encourage physical activity during the cold winter months. Rentals are free on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on the location, Snow Days activities may include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing/sledding. We also provide healthy snacks and a free fleece hat for the first 50 attendees.

Mighty Acorn January 3rd program
Today the Kindergarten and 1st graders learned about winter animals and their tracks. We were all able to snowshoe the grounds of the Grafton Nature Museum in search of animal tracks. We found fox, mice, dog and bird tracks!

January 8 - Winter Sports begins! For any students cross-country skiing at Wild Wings we have confirmed it will be $5 per trip.
January 11 - Windham Town School District Special Meeting - 10 AM at Windham Elementary School - Shall the voters of the Windham Town School District vote on the Windham Elementary School Budget by Australian ballot?
January 20 - No School - Celebration of Life and Ideas of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. event
