Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Spring Concert

A HUGE shoutout to our amazing WES students for a beautiful and amazing Spring Concert last night! Thank you to Sally Newton and Kate Ullman for the amazing time they gave during this school year to make music happen for our students!

Baby Chicks

On our last day of farm, we were unable to be around when the delivery of baby chicks came. Beth and Melissa from Meadows Bee Farm, made a special stop later Thursday morning with the baby chicks so we could all take a moment to hold and enjoy them. Enjoy the few shots I was able to get before holding a chick myself!

Saturday - June 4th - Playdate at the Playhouse

Students attending this event should plan on wearing their Tie Dye shirts that they made this year!

Students from five local schools will come together at Weston’s Village Green for PLAYDATE AT THE PLAYHOUSE on Saturday June 4th 12 – 3pm, RAIN OR SHINE – activities, superhero fashion show, pep rally and more, making it a great outing for the whole family:

11:30am: Cavendish Students arrive on Weston Village Green, Weston VT for rehearsal

12pm: ALL other schools arrive and activities begin (Flood Brook, Chester-Andover, Windham and Little School)

12:30pm: mini-presentation by Cavendish Town Elementary School

12:45: ALL schools - Pep Rally, SuperHero Fashion show and more!

1:00pm - 3:00pm: Activities on the green

A reminder that the entire event is outside on the Green, rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Parents/guardians are expected to remain with their child for the duration of the event, unless teachers have arranged guardians.

Tuesday - June 7th - Field Day with Ms. Carla

The annual field day in PE with Ms. Carla is scheduled for Tuesday. Please have students either bring another change of clothes or their bathing suit (there will be challenges with water) so that they can change out of their school clothes and have something dry to wear after the field day events are over. A towel and plastic bag to put wet stuff in after is also important to make sure they have.

Kindergarten Graduation

Ms. Sara will plan on a small ceremony for our Kindergarteners at our school picnic at Hapgood Pond on June 16th. This is to acknowledge all the amazing learning that each of them have done all year to prepare them to move onto 1st grade. If you have not RSVP’d for the picnic yet, please do so ASAP. We need to plan accordingly for transportation if all families are unable to attend.

Last Student Day - June 16th

Our last student day will be Thursday, June 16th and a half day. Weather depending, and finding a lifeguard we would like to spend it at Hapgood Pond. We would plan on leaving the school at 9 AM and be at Hapgood Pond until 12:00 PM. We are hoping that all families can attend this end of year celebration. We would like to provide a potluck lunch for everyone attending.

Food and Beverage Item suggestions include:

Paper plates

Paper Cups

Please RSVP to Ms. Sara - with the number of people in your family that are hoping to attend along with the item(s) you would like to contribute to the picnic.  If anyone has any leads on lifeguards that can do outdoor water (non-pool) areas that would be great!
