Book Buddies, Rocket Ships & Snow Time Fun

Hero Project

Susan Haefner returned on Monday to continue her work with the students on their Hero Project. They learned about stage positions (upstage, downstage, stage right & stage left) and began to work on the backdrop pieces to their production. Susan will begin to see the students twice a week in April & May with the culminating show on May 28th. Details about the final show will be shared with all families once we get closer.

Kehoe Sledding

We have been invited to sled at the Kehoe property on March 15th in the afternoon. We will leave after lunch and plan an hour and a half of sledding and cross-country skiing. We will be back in time for dismissal at 3 PM. If your student would like to bring their tubes to school to use at the Kehoe’s that is fine, but they have plenty of sleds for us to use for our small group.

Edgar May Health & Rec Center

We will be bringing the students to Edgar May Health & Rec Center in Springfield, VT on Monday, March 29th. We will plan on leaving Windham Elementary at 12:00 PM, to allow travel and change time into swimsuits before swimming from 1-2 PM. We will then return to school in time for dismissal. Waiver forms are being sent home and need to be signed and returned back to the school if you plan on your student joining us. The following protocols will be followed per their policy while we are there:

  • Masks are required at all times, other than in the water.

  • Our locker rooms are limited to 4 people at  a time.

  • We do screen temperatures on arrival.

Covid Protocol

UPDATE- No changes in travel for Vermont residents. We are asked not to travel out of state or even within the state except for essential purposes. One of the concerns the health experts have is that the variant COVID virus will be abundant in March, thus continuing vigilant mitigation efforts to prevent contracting and spreading the virus is essential. Remember, if you travel out of state this vacation you must quarantine for 14 days, or, test negative with PCR culture 7 days after returning home.

ESSENTIAL TRAVEL PURPOSES ONLY:

* Work

* Personal safety

* Medical care

* Care of others (that includes ONLY the person providing the care-NOT other family members)

* Parental shared custody

* For food/beverage or medicine

* To attend school if commuting

* To perform work for businesses that are currently allowed to operate when necessary.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO BE CAUTIOUS:

  • Wash your hands

  • Wear facial coverings

  • Maintain physical distancing

  • Stay home if you are unwell
