Windham Elementary School Newsletter
March 13, 2020 Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn” Please check your student’s backpack’s and folders for important COVID-19 letters updating the current status of school-related community gatherings and public events scheduled in the district's schools. As of 5:50 PM on 3/15/20, student attendance at school on Monday and Tuesday is a family decision. 2020 Lego Contest in Chester, VT - Saturday, March 14 - CANCELLED due to Coronavirus. Will not be rescheduled. Last Day of School & COVID-19 If the Vermont state/district chooses to close schools for a limited amount of time. That time period will be considered a school dismissal and not a school closure. A school dismissal is for when the school will stay open for staff members while the children stay home. By keeping the school open during a dismissal will allow teachers to develop and deliver lessons and materials remotely to maintain continuity of teaching and learning and allows other staff members to continue to provide services and help with additional response efforts. School dismissal days, since the students will still be getting educational instruction at home, will not need to be made up at the end of the year.
