Dress-up Days for Spring Fling week!

When we return to school following the Memorial Day holiday we hope that each student will participate in our Spring Fling week! Below are the dress-up day’s we have scheduled!

Tuesday - May 31 - Red/White and Blue Day

Wednesday - June 1 - Mr. PJ’s Favorite Color Day (wear as much PURPLE as you can!)

Thursday - June 2 - Sports Jersey or Team Shirt

Friday - June 3 - Beach/Tourist Day

Hiring Complete!

With the exciting announcement of our new K-2 teacher, Natalie Beckstrom last week, we wanted to introduce our new Administrative Assistant for the 2022-23 school year this week! Please welcome Bridget Corby! We are so excited to have her in this role at WES!

School Garden

Thanks to the amazing Friends of the Windham Schoolhouse volunteers our school gardens are coming along! On Thursday the students planted an additional small flower bed!

Mighty Acorns - Inspecta Insecta

On what turned out to be one of our first HOT spring days, the K-1 students learned all about insects as part of the Mighty Acorns program at the Grafton Nature Museum. The students learned about our 6 legged friends and then were able to use lots of fun tools and collect some to share with the group at the end. We look forward to our last Mighty Acorn on June 10th - Pond Habitat Exploration. All K-1 students should be prepared to wear their muck boots and bug spray this day!

June 4th - Playdate at the Playhouse

Please make sure that you return the RSVP playdate at the playhouse forms that were sent home last week (and again this week if we have not received them back) so that Weston can plan accordingly. Just check the IS or IS NOT area on the form and send it back to the school.

For any students who have ball games or other commitments on June 4, the best time to come to this event is between 12 - 1pm because that's when Theresa will be leading superhero fabulousness, songs and pep rally etc.

A reminder that the entire event is outside on the Green, rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Parents/guardians are expected to remain with their child for the duration of the event, unless teachers have arranged guardians.

Last Student Day - June 16th

Our last student day will be Thursday, June 16th and a half day. Weather depending, and finding a lifeguard we would like to  spend it at Hapgood Pond. We would plan on leaving the school at 9 AM and be at Hapgood Pond until 12:00 PM. We are hoping that all families can attend this end of year celebration. We would like to provide a potluck lunch for everyone attending.

Food and Beverage Item suggestions include:

Cheese

Wraps

Mayo

Mustard

Watermelon

Lettuce

Lemonade

Dessert
Paper plates

Napkins

Paper Cups

Silverware

Please RSVP to Ms. Sara - swunderle@windhamcentral.org with the number of people in your family that are hoping to attend along with the item(s) you would like to contribute to the picnic.  If anyone has any leads on lifeguards that can do outdoor water (non-pool) areas that would be great!
