Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

Harvest Supper

What a wonderful event this was last Saturday night. The food, music and dancing filled the Windham Meeting House/Congregational Church with warmth and laughter. It was such a joy to hear the Windham Elementary School students play and sing the songs they have been learning in ukulele class with Sally. I was so thankful to have my family there to listen and witness the wonderful community I am so grateful to work with.

School photos

They are here! They will be sent home with your students today! If you are interested in having your student have a retake of their photos, please send your photos back to school with your student next week and I will call Geskus about returning for a retake session.

Breakfast items

Donations of english muffins, bagels and juice would be wonderful to get us through this last week of school before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Edgar May Health & Rec Center

Drivers needed! Sally’s K-3rd graders have earned enough beads to earn a trip of their choice! They have voted to swim at Edgar May Health & Rec Center in Springfield, VT on Friday, November 22nd. We will plan on leaving Windham Elementary at 9:00 AM, to allow travel and change time into swimsuits before swimming from 10-11 AM. We will then return to school in time for lunch. We are looking for a couple parent volunteers to help drive to and from Springfield that morning. Please contact Sara - or call her at 874-4159.

Bargain ski rentals through Norse House Ski Shop, 31 VT Route 30, Bondville, VT, 802-297-1755

It’s that time of year again and we welcome you to join us for all of your JISP needs- rentals of skis, snowboards and boots. We encourage you to come in before the Thanksgiving holiday so we can get your child(ren) outfitted for the season. The season runs from 11/15/19- 4/15/20.

Our season lease prices this year are: junior package skis, boots and poles $89.00; adult packages $199.00; $99-$149 for junior snowboards and boots.

In response to the growing inquiry about helmets, we have teamed up with Smith to offer helmets to JISP participants at the reduced range of $60- $80. The benefit of these helmets is the size adjustability that will provide several years of use for your child.

Blackout dates for fittings, are Saturdays and Thanksgiving week and weekend (11/28 -11/30).

We thank you in advance for understanding and continued support and we look forward to seeing you soon!

A reminder that JISP sign-ups are due by November 29th for students, drivers, and chaperones. The link to sign up is or
