Habits of Mind: “Safe, Responsible, Respectful, Ready to Learn”

The Halloween party at Windham Fire House is today, Friday October 25th, starting at 5:00. Since judging is promptly at 6:00 it is important to be there early. Many times some great costumes do not get a prize because kids arrived late. There will be lots of yummy food that will include: Hot dogs, chili, cornbread and baked goodies. Prizes. Hayride (weather permitting), donut eating for a prize, musical chairs etc... goodie bags for everyone. So get your costumes ready.

REMINDER - Tuesday & Friday’s are our hot lunch days. Snacks should still be sent in on those days for students to eat in the morning. Lunch does not get delivered till noon and many students still find they need that snack before lunch time.

Pasta Supper & Open House will be October 30th. The pasta supper will be a fundraiser for this year’s fifth grader’s trip to Camp Keewaydin and the sixth grader’s end of year trip to Six Flags. The supper is an all you can eat spaghetti dinner, with tossed salad, garlic bread and homemade desserts starting at 5:00 PM.  The pasta meal will be five dollars per person and desserts will be by donation. Friends and relatives are more than welcome to come and enjoy this excellent meal with your family. Following supper, your children will be your tour guides as they show you their classroom, their personal work and activities that they do regularly here at school.

Bakers needed! Donations of baked goods needed for Pasta Supper. Please let Sara know if you are available to bring a dessert to have available by donation to have after the pasta supper.

Grafton Trails/Mighty Acorns trip Friday, November 1st. We are tentatively scheduling a trip to Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center for grades 2-6 to hike; while the K-1st graders will go to their Mighty Acorn program at the Grafton Nature Museum. We will return back to the school to eat hot lunch and then have music classes with Mrs. Ulman to finish off the day. The Mighty Acorn program will happen rain or shine, the hike will be weather dependent and we will keep everyone informed as next week unfolds. Kord will be transporting us to and from Grafton using the school bus for this trip.

Halloween Costumes - Please do not send your student with their costumes to school on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st. Although we would love to see your students in their Halloween costumes, we ask that it be via picture form rather than the actual costume. We look forward to celebrating Halloween with activities here at the school during the day with the students.

Breakfast Donations - Thank you for the wonderful donations once again for our breakfast meals. The following items would still be great to obtain if possible: Maple Syrup, Juice, Baked items, Bananas and Eggs

Winter Coat Drive - Community Hope & Action is sponsoring a Winter Coat Drive and Give Away on Saturday, November 16th at 5:00 in Townshend. As part of the Third Saturday Harvest Pot-luck, winter coats will be collected and anyone is welcome to come and take one or more. All sizes are welcome. To donate gently worn coats, you can drop them off at either the Townshend Town Hall on November 16th at 5:00 or you can donate before the 16th to the front porch of Cynefim Farm,  1169 Grafton Road in Townshend.
